Oak Tree Arts began life in 2011, with our first Story Club. Four enthusiastic young writers who got together each week.  Nestled away behind the book shelves of Abbey Books, they tested their writing skills, challenged their imaginations and created some fantastic stories!

Since then, Oak Tree Arts has grown to create and provide storytelling and creative writing clubs for ages 3 – 21.  Each year we publish a book of their creations and celebrate their achievements with a special book launch party.

All of our projects are designed to support language and literacy development through games and play.

Over the last year we moved all of our clubs onto zoom and will continue running them online until it is safe to return to in person meetings. We all miss our lovely book shop, but we know we’ll be back as soon as it’s safe.

In the meantime, we’re focusing on supporting our members, old and new, by creating lots of fun activities that they can take part in from the comfort and safety of their own homes.

Have fun, build confidence, create stories!
